Jason P. Allen was appointed as the Vice President-General Manager of Chattem Chemicals, Inc. in October 2010. Mr. Allen has more than 25 years of progressive experience in the Active Pharmaceutical and Specialty Chemical industries. In his current position, he develops business strategies, oversees the development and launch of projects, ensures the Chattanooga site is compliant with various regulatory agencies, oversees management of finances and operations, and builds the team that comprises all that is Chattem.

Mr. Allen is certain that the employees of Chattem are the greatest assets of the business. He seeks to manage with integrity and constantly recruit talent. Mr. Allen strives to never be satisfied. He believes strongly in not having a mono-product culture. He is convinced that the diversity of the Chattem business is what drives our business. Therefore, driving growth through organic and inorganic means is a key professional focus for him and Chattem.

Originally, Mr. Allen was hired at Chattem as the Manager of Manufacturing. In that position, he managed the day-to-day activities of each Business Unit within the manufacturing facility. Becoming well versed with unit operations, personnel, efficiency and improvement projects, and FDA and DEA guidance. He was later promoted to Director of Operations before being promoted to his current role.

Prior to his roles in the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient industry, Mr. Allen worked for Akzo Nobel both in North America and Western Europe. Mr. Allen earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). He lives in Alabama, with his wife Cindy and two children, Zach and Ryan, on their family farm.

Ed joined CCI in 2005 after spending more than two decades working in healthcare finance. He supervises CCI’s accounting, purchasing, human resources, and information technology departments, and relies on his strong, trusted team to keep the engine running.

What Ed says he enjoys most about working at Chattem Chemicals is the small company feel with a large company support from our parent, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. Ed says he prides himself in “managing behind the scenes so the gears keep working.

Ed earned his Bachelors’ in Accounting and Management at Union College (Lincoln, NE) and his Masters in Business Administration at University of Central Florida (Orlando, FL). Ed and his wife Britta have been married for over 30 years, and love traveling and learning about other cultures. Ed enjoys keeping his stress low by racing Ironman triathlon events and coaching other athletes to reach their goals. He serves as treasurer for the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, and both he and Britta are also actively involved in their church and other community organizations.

David has been with Chattem Chemicals for the past 10 years, beginning his career working in the QC laboratory.

Frank Seymour joined the Chattem team in May of 1976. Frank has worked at Chattem Chemicals for over 47 years, having previously served as the Site Quality Head for many years. In his current role, Frank serves as Quality Advisor and Trainer, as he assists and advises the Quality Group.

Frank enjoys the work that we do at Chattem Chemicals. "We make ingredients that help people, and it is very rewarding to know you are serving your fellow man." Frank loves teaching and training fellow employees across the organization in a family type atmosphere.

Mr. Seymour earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from UT Knoxville, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He and his wife Kelli are natives of Chattanooga and currently live in Hixson, TN. They have one son, Chad, who is an electrician.

Nilesh has spent the last 10 years at CCI, after spending the previous decade working in R&D at Sun Pharmaceuticals in India. All told, he has more than 25 years of industrial research experience with APIs, and synthetic and semi-synthetic natural product development.

Nilesh is excited about “growing our business through innovative processes and bringing new and quality products to our customers.”

Brad started his career at Chattem in 2000, and has since performed numerous manufacturing functions with the company, including project engineering, environmental, health, safety and security, and maintenance supervision. In his current role as Engineering Manager, Brad oversees all of CCI's manufacturing operations, which includes all of the aforementioned departments, as well as production and shipping and receiving.

Brad says he loves the culture that has developed at Chattem over the last 20 years.“It is a very fast-paced environment, but still maintains a small-company feel that is very evident in our high commitment to safety, the customer, and quality,” he says. “It’s what makes Chattem a special place to work and to do business with.”

In his free time, Brad enjoys spending time with his wife of more than 20 years, Megan, and their four children: Lily, Katie, Luke, and Audrey.

Brad says his family firmly believes in the life lessons taught by sports and the benefits of strong youth programs in the community. Not only are their children involved in many sports and activities, but he and Megan both serve on the boards of various youth organizations and routinely coach youth teams and volunteer with local programs. While his family is busy most nights and weekends, Brad says he does still sneak in a little golf from time to time.

Joseph joined CCI in 2006 after working 4 years in the edible oils industry. He supervises the Active Pharmaceutical Production unit as well as the Performance Additives Production unit at Chattem.

Joseph has recently transitioned into Project Engineering Management and spends much of his time pushing the CAPEX program forward to create future expansion capabilities here at CCI.

Joseph and his wife Amanda have been married for 18 years. He has two boys of high school and middle school age.

David joined CCI in 2014 after graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was hired as an API Process Engineer and now has the position of Sr. Engineer – New Product Development Lead.

He enjoys the process of shepherding projects from the development stage of working with R&D up to the satisfaction of supplying customer orders. His view is that it is all about building partnerships and developing relationships.

David has been married to his wife Amanda for 23 years and they have two children.

Anna Glaser joined Chattem Chemicals in 2012 in the Quality Control department as a laboratory technician. She was promoted to Chemist 1 position in 2013 and Management position in 2015 Anna supervises executive side of QC laboratory.

She is deeply committed to quality control, supporting and motivating her stuff and maintaining corporate expectations. As the Quality Control Manager, Anna prides herself on ensuring the products are of the highest quality for our customers.

Anna graduated from the University of Gdansk (Poland) and the University of Lyon (France). Anna moved to the United States in 1994. Her international background and perspective has been a valuable Chattem asset. She has been married to her husband, Sean, for 15 years and has one daughter. In free time she enjoys gardening and cooking.

Rich joined Chattem Chemicals in November 2020. Rich is an experienced Human Resources leader who brings a balance of strategic and operational experiences to the Chattem Chemicals team. Rich began his career in HR as a Personnel Officer during his last years in the U.S. Army. He then moved into the manufacturing and automotive industries, where he held a variety of global HR Business Partner and HR team leadership roles.

Rich says that it is a privilege to be a part of the great team at Chattem Chemicals. “The Chattem culture is one of hard work, innovation, and team-focused commitment to one another, along with an understanding of the importance of a healthy work-life balance.”

Originally from Kansas, Rich has lived throughout the U.S.A. and in the countries of Mexico, Romania, and Germany. Rich earned a Master of Business Administration from Capella University, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and as well as Biblical Studies from University of Northwestern- St. Paul, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Augusta University. Rich lives in Tennessee with his wife Aimee and their four children.

A specialist, experienced delivering partnership solutions within complex applications and diverse global markets. Mike is responsible for key growth priorities within project management, adding efficient alignment across sales, quality, procurement and manufacturing.

Mike holds a degree in biology with an emphasis in business, and is passionate about healthcare, technology, and helping specialty chemical partners achieve success. With extensive experience implementing strategic initiatives for specialty chemical businesses, he continually seeks to prioritize and advocate for Chattem’s business partners.

Outside of the office, Mike is a licensed captain, spending time whitewater kayaking, cycling, fly fishing, and sailing with his wife and twin boys.

Wes brought more than 18 years of sales and management experience with him when he arrived Chattem in the fall of 2019, and he's looking forward to proudly serving each of our customers for many years to come. At his last job, Wes provided CCI with large amounts of industrial material, which gave him valuable knowledge of the systems by which our products are made.

Wes says his passion is to not only make a difference in the lives of people daily via our products, but also to build and strengthen relationships based on trust and communication. Seeing and knowing the passion of other CCI employees, as well as their sincere care to make sure each and every customer is 100% satisfied with the services we provide to them, energizes Wes each day.

Wes has been happily married for 12 years and has two daughters.

Margaret “Kelsea” Dover joined Chattem Chemicals, Inc in February of 2017 in the Quality Control lab. After working as a chemist she gained valuable knowledge of CCI’s products and quality systems which helps her serve our customers in her current role as the Senior Technical Specialist. In this position, Kelsea ensures customer satisfaction when fielding all questions, inquiries, and necessary paperwork required. Kelsea is most excited to help our customers have a positive experience when entrusting CCI with their needs.

Kelsea graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Biology. In her free time Kelsea loves being with her family. She and her husband Michael have been married since 2017 and they live in the Chattanooga area with their three children, Treston, Harper, and Hudson.

Tammy joined Chattem in May of 2019. She comes from a background of warehousing and customer service.

She enjoys delivering excellent customer service internally and externally by exceeding customer’s expectations. She believes in being timely and efficient to create lasting relationships and to maintain positive experiences.

Tammy earned Associate Degree in Business Management from Chattanooga State. She lives in Dayton, TN with her husband Scott.

Debbie joined Chattem Chemicals Inc. In November 2018 as an Accounts Payable Assistant. Debbie brought many years of insurance, sales, supervisory, customer service, financial and other experiences to Chattem. In June 2023 Debbie moved into the position of Administrative Assistant to Jason Allen Vice President – General Manager. Every day is a new challenge that she loves as she assist Mr. Allen, the sales team and other staff in their strive for excellence.

Debbie said “When I came on board with Chattem it was like coming home”. The family feel is one of the many things she loves about coming to work every day. There is a sense of pride when you work with a company that has the desire and integrity to produce the best product possible and also genuinely cares about the people that make it happen every day. This attitude of family comes from management and gives the employees the desire to work hard to attain our goals.

She loves spending time with her family and traveling with friends. She is an avid reader and has a sense of adventure that plays well with her role at Chattem.
